December 13 is the Feast of St. Lucy. Celebrating St. Lucy is a great way to get ready for Advent. St. Lucy is the patron saint of the blind and eye ailments. She is also celebrated with candles and light. The Feast of St. Lucy is largely celebrated in Sweden and you will find many of the recipe and customs around her feast day to be of Swedish orgins. The life of the Blessed Virgin Mary plays a key role in our existance, as she is the birth mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. This month in Novemeber we celebrated the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Nov 21) and Our Lady of Kibeho (Nov 28).
