Reading the Bible? Trying to read and pray more with the Bible? Awesome! Here are some tips: 1. Start with the Gospels! (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John) Choose one of these 4 books. Read a few verses a day. 2. Pray with friends! Take turns reading a few verses and discuss. 3. Pray along with Father Mike Schmitz-- here is the link to his podcast "Bible in a Year" He reads various books each day and adds in a reflection to help us understand the readings for each day. Each podcast is about 20 minutes! Prayer? Daily Prayer? We have to start somewhere! Prayer does not have to be complicated. In the same way we talk to our friends, we can talk to God. Prayer is a conversation. Jesus wants to be in conversation with you. We can only become closer to our friends by talking, right? So if you desire to get closer to God or know more about Him, talk to Him! 1. Sign of the Cross; "Thank you God for these three things ________________. Amen." Sign of the Cross 2. Sign of the Cross; "Jesus, I am feeling _________. Please help me. Amen." Sign of the Cross 3. Sign of the Cross; "Lord, teach me how to pray..." 4. Sign of the Cross; "Jesus, my day was really ________ and this is why ___________"
