Saint of the Month
Saint Mother Teresa (Teresa of Calcutta)
Saint Mother Teresa was a remarkable woman known all around the world. At the age of 27, she made her final vows and announced that she would be the "spouse of Jesus" for "all eternity." She taught and was a school principal, but is widely known for her service to the poor. Through her devoutness to prayer and adoration, Jesus made it clear to her of His desire for 'victims of love' who would 'radiate His love on souls.' He begged her, 'Come be My light, I cannot go alone.' She established the Missionaries of Charity and devoted her life to living for Jesus and His pain at the neglect of the poor, His sorrow at their ignorance of Him and His longing for their love. She visited families, washed the sores of some children, cared for an old man lying sick on the road and nursed a woman dying of hunger and tuberculosis. She started each day with communion then went out, rosary in her hand, to find and serve Him amongst "the unwanted, the unloved, the uncared for." She continues to be a light to this world and a ray of Jesus' charity. Let us pray for her intercession so that we, too can humble ourselves and live with great sacrifice, humility and charity!

Candlemas is the celebration of the Presentation of the Lord. Celebrate it this year with a crepe. It is tradition in France to eat crepes on February 2 or Candlemas day to celebrate.
